By deepening his professional skills, Levis Kahia is advancing his career in the cleaning and property services sector. He values the high-quality education provided by Omnia, which allows him to grow his skills flexibly alongside work.

Originally from Kenya, Levis moved to Finland in the summer of 2023. He quickly found his path in the cleaning industry and began studying while working. He encourages others interested in the field to pursue qualifications: employers expect professional competence.

“With the right skills, you can do the job professionally. The training shows what quality, responsibility, and safety are really about – and how to deal with customers in a professional manner”, Levis explains.

Fast progress through a structured approach

Levis completed the Vocational Qualification in Cleaning and Property Services in just one year. A key factor in his success was the study schedule he personally created himself, including online courses in general subjects such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

Levis has continued his studies with the Further Vocational Qualification in Cleaning and Property Services, which he is completing through an apprenticeship.

A determined mindset and a supportive employer have also been central to his progress.

“I’m very grateful to my employer, who supports my studies and sees the apprenticeship model as a valuable way to build competence. I’ve received guidance both from my workplace mentor and my teacher at Omnia. I’ve also received encouragement from customers when completing vocational competence demonstrations at real work sites.”

Next step: leadership studies

Levis plans to continue his education by studying leadership at a university of applied sciences. He values the fact that Omnia’s vocational qualifications provide eligibility for higher education.

“High-quality vocational training is a great stepping stone for building a career,” he says with satisfaction.

His thanks go not only to his employer but also to Omnia.

“My teacher at Omnia, Heidi Nousiainen, has been especially encouraging. The education at Omnia is excellent and well-structured, making it possible to combine work and studies. You can plan your learning independently and study at your own pace,” Levis emphasizes.
