The courses for the spring semester 2026 were published on Ilmonet yesterday, November 10. Course registration begins on November 17. However, some courses are already open for registration.

Here’s what Morgan Block, the teacher on E261317 Music appreciation course writes about the topic of the course: “Music appreciation is about learning how to listen to music more deeply, and developing vocabulary and skills for discussing what interests us in what we listen to. It helps us notice what is happening in music, understand where it comes from, and discover why it moves us.” About the course Block notes: “One of the main aims is to shift from simply hearing music to actively listening. Along the way, we explore both familiar music and also styles that may be new to us, broadening our perspective and appreciation. No prior musical training is required, just curiosity.” The course starts on Wed 4.2., and you can choose whether to attend in person or online.

Come to learn the fundamentals of sound design and music composition for media on our upcoming course E261402 Introduction to sound design and music for media! The course is led by J.C Muyonjo, who says: “The process of making music is more democratized with a varied number of tools for anyone with the will to attain desirable goals, which allows for exploration and experimenting. That’s the surest way of making new discoveries.” The course starts on Tue 3.2., and you can choose whether to attend in person or online.
