Course fees
- Course fees are determined based on the number of teaching hours and the number of credits at the Open University. The duration of one lesson is 45 minutes.
- The course price considers the costs of organizing the course. Day courses are generally cheaper than evening and weekend courses.
- The invoiced course or cancellation fee is at least €10.
- If one lesson is cancelled on a course that lasts for the whole term, students are not entitled to deductions from the course fee or a compensation lesson.
- If a student enrols on a course that lasts for a term or academic year when the course is halfway through, the student will receive a 50 % discount on the course fee.
- We may also charge course-related material fees or other additional fees. These fees are mentioned separately in the course description.
- In family courses, the course fee includes one adult and one child.
- Weaving station fees are determined by the time and materials used in the activity, as well as guidance services. You can get more information about the pricing at the weaving station (in Finnish).
Terms of payment
- You will be invoiced via online payment once the course has started. The term of payment for online payment is 14 days from the invoicing date.
- We will send you information about the online payment by email.
- You can make the payment by logging in to the Ilmonet.fi service, from which the online payment will be redirected to the website of the Paytrail payment forwarding service.
- If the student does not have an email address or does not pay the invoice in the Ilmonet.fi service, we will send to the student a new invoice as an e-invoice, electronically to the OmaPosti or Kivra service or by regular letter mail to their home address. The new invoice has a 21-day payment
timeperiod from the invoice date and there are no additional costs. - Students under the age of 18 need an adult to pay for the course fee. We will need the payer’s full information, including personal identification number. The person paying the fee must enroll the underage student for their courses by calling the Espoo Adult Education Centre's customer service.
- If the course is paid for by a company or association, the student must contact customer service to provide the necessary payment information when enrolling on the course. The invoicing address cannot be changed afterwards.
- Unpaid invoices will be forwarded to a collection agency.
- If a student has invoices in debt collection, they cannot enroll in a new course. Enrolment becomes possible again after the invoices have been paid.

Payment of the course
We use online payment for course invoicing, which can be found on the Ilmonet.fi service.
- A message regarding the course fee will be sent to the student’s e-mail address from the address: espoontyovaenopisto.noreply@ilmonet.fi.
- The subject line of the message will read: “Omnia Espoon työväenopisto, kurssimaksun verkkomaksaminen” (“Espoo Adult Education Centre Omnia, online payment of course fee”).
- You can pay the course fee by logging into the Ilmonet.fi service by clicking on “my account” and selecting “online payments”.
- The online payment will be redirected to the Paytrail page, which will charge the payment from your account as a direct payment and the payment due date cannot be changed at this stage.
- The payment provider Paytrail will charge the approved payment from your account, and you will receive
aconfirmation by email. - Please note: The invoice information or account numbers of the online payment cannot be extracted for a new payment, and the reference numbers of previous invoices cannot be used for new payments.
- If you do not have an email address or do not pay the invoice in the Ilmonet.fi service by the due date, a new invoice will be sent to you with the new due date without additional costs.
- If you have a valid e-invoice agreement with your own bank, the invoice will be delivered primarily as an e-invoice.
- You can make an e-invoice agreement according to your own bank's instructions while paying the invoice in the online bank; you will need the new invoice reference number for this. An e-invoice agreement is an agreement between the customer and the bank. The invoice provider for Omnia Espoo Adult Education Centre is Espoon seudun koulutuskuntayhtymä Omnia (Espoon seudun koulutusky Omnia).
- If you use the OmaPosti and Kivra services, the invoice will be delivered primarily to the OmaPosti service. Otherwise, we will send the invoice by regular mail to the address you have provided.
- If you have made an e-invoice agreement with your own bank, you can pay the invoice either in the Ilmonet.fi service or wait for the e-invoice to arrive in your online bank.
- You can also pay Espoo Adult Education Centre’s course invoice at Espoo info by the due date of the invoice at the latest.
- Please update your e-mail address on Ilmonet.fi or inform Espoo Adult Education Centre customer service of your changed contact information.
Benefits and discounts
Study voucher discount courses subsidized by the Finnish National Agency for Education
Study voucher discount courses are more affordable, because they have been subsidized by the Finnish National Agency for Education’s training subsidy. The training subsidy is intended for people with a low level of basic education, immigrants, unemployed people, people over 63 years of age, pensioners, and people with learning difficulties. Pensioners refer to people who receive basic pension, employment pension or disability pension and are not gainfully employed.
- To get the lower subsidized price, you must belong to the target group of the course. If you do not belong to the target group, you will be charged the standard course fee.
- The course information indicates both the affordable study voucher discount price and the normal course fee.
- Students are admitted in order of enrolment, but a separate application is required for literacy training for immigrants.
- The course fee, which includes the student voucher grant, is not subject to an unemployment discount.
- A person who is not in the target group for a study voucher course can receive an unemployment discount on the full course fee for the study voucher course.
Payment with employment benefits
You can pay for courses with employee benefits at Espoo info. The following sport and culture cards are accepted, along with mobile payment: Eazybreak, Smartum, Edenred and ePassi.
- Please note! The invoice in the Ilmonet.fi service cannot be paid with employee benefits. Wait for a new invoice, which will arrive as an e-invoice, electronically to the OmaPosti or Kivra service or by regular
lettermail. - Take a printed invoice and your ID with you to Espoo info when paying with employee benefits. Please note, presenting an electronic invoice is not enough to make
apayment. - Payment methods are personal and cannot be used to pay for materials or handouts.
- If you want to pay with employee benefits, the invoice must be paid no later than the invoice due date.
- The invoice cannot be paid with an employee benefit if the course information indicates that Sports/culture voucher not possible or if the invoice has been transferred to a collection agency.
Unemployment discount instructions
Unemployed people are eligible for a 50% discount on course fees over €20.
- The discount does not apply to Open University courses, degree fees, course material fees, study voucher courses, level tests, language learning trips or if the course information states that the discount does not apply.
- Unemployment must be demonstrated before the start of the course, once every term.
- The unemployment certificate must be no more than 30 days old.
- Acceptable certificates are:
- A screenshot or image from Job Market Finland (Työmarkkinatori) service pages. The image must show the person's name and the information that he is an unemployed job seeker.
- A certificate of the validity of the job search printed by the Official of Employment Services.
- Other official document showing that the person is unemployed.

- In the title field please write “Certificate of unemployment”

- You can also send the certificate by post or present it at Omnia Service Centre or Espoo info. We recommend sending the certificate by email.
Kaikukortti card
The aim of Kaikukortti is to improve the opportunities of young people, adults and families who are financially hard-pressed to enjoy art and culture. With Kaikukortti card, you can attend one course per term free of charge at the Espoo Adult Education Centre (terms: 1 January–31 July and 1 August–31 December). The card is personal, and it is free of charge.
• Kaikukortti card holders enroll on courses via the Ilmonet.fi online service or by calling the Adult Education Centre’s customer service. They must provide their Kaikukortti card number and validity to the Adult Education Centre’s customer service by email or phone before the course begins. If you do not notify us of your Kaikukortti number, we will charge you the normal price for the course.
• Kaikukortti can also be used to attend family courses together with a child.
• If a student fails to attend the course they enrolled in, it is counted as the one free course.
• Courses not eligible for the Kaikukortti card discount:
- Finnish language courses
- courses that are part of a qualification: national certificate of language proficiency (YKI), Open University education, basic education in the arts and maritime courses.
- certified training: first aid courses, hygiene passport training and basics of music theory and composition
- fees of open learning environments i.e. the weaving station
- some of the course material fees
