Welcome to the new school year!

After the summer, it is time to turn our attention to the new school year. Autumn brings opportunities to learn new things, set goals, and build a path toward the future. Each school year is a new beginning, and the small and big achievements along the way are important steps forward.

At Omnia, studying is done together – fellow students, staff, and loved ones form a network that supports and encourages you. It is important to remember that learning does not happen alone, but is built through cooperation and shared experiences.

To make everyday life run as smoothly as possible, it is important that everyone knows the common rules. Reviewing and following the code of conduct is not just a formality – it creates a safe, functional, and pleasant learning environment where everyone can focus on what matters most.

I wish you enthusiasm, courage, and joy for the new school year. Every day offers a new opportunity to learn, to try, and to succeed.

Maija Aaltola
Head Principal

No classes on Friday, 5 September 2025

On Friday, 5 September 2025, Omnia will hold a staff day for all personnel. Therefore, no classes will generally be organised on that day. In special cases, classes may take place, in which case they will appear in your timetable.

Teachers may give you independent assignments if required by the course. Possible assignments will be announced separately by your teachers.

If you have on-the-job learning scheduled for that day, it will take place as planned.

Recognition of prior learning is taken into account in vocational studies

As a vocational student, it is possible to have your prior learning recognised as part of your studies. Prior learning must correspond to the vocational skill requirements or competence objectives of the qualification. The identification and recognition of prior learning is carried out as part of personalisation as early as possible at the beginning of the studies.

For the recognition of prior learning, certificates of previous studies must be submitted to the coordinating teacher. The best way to share study records completed in Finland is by providing a link to your study records in the Studyinfo service. If the study records are not available in Studyinfo, copies of paper certificates must be submitted to the coordinating teacher. All pages of the certificates are required, including any text on the back covers.

When all certificates are submitted on time, the recognition process can be carried out smoothly. Teachers may have additional questions to ensure that your competence is up to date, so it is important to be active and respond to any requests from teachers for further information.
