Vocational Skills Week at Omnia on 26–30 January 2026
Ammattiosaamisen viikko (Vocational Skills Week) will be celebrated at Omnia on 26–30 January 2026. During the week, we highlight the importance of vocational skills, everyday competencies, as well as the wide range of expertise found at Omnia and the future professionals who are training here.
Throughout the week, different fields of education and actors will showcase their expertise in a variety of ways. The programme includes events, opportunities to explore different fields, and highlights that emphasise students’ work, connections to working life, and the role of vocational education.
Ammattiosaamisen viikko is a shared effort in which every student plays an important role. We encourage students to showcase their own vocational skills and to share insights into their studies and field, for example on social media. You can find Omnia’s social media channels at the end of this newsletter.
As part of Ammattiosaamisen viikko, the following events will be organised at Omnia’s campuses: DuuniOmnia and the introduction day for Preparatory education for upper secondary qualification – TUVA on 27 January 2026, the vocational education introduction n day on 29 January 2026, the Taitaja2026 competition semi-finals on 27–28 January 2026, and the Taitaja9 competition on 29 January 2026.
The national Ammattiosaamisen juhlapäivä (Vocational Skills Celebration Day) will take place on Friday, 30 January 2026, featuring community activities as well as students’ favourite foods and coffee with cake.
