Daily life at Omnia continues safely

News | 15.05.2026
In Finland, people woke up today, May 15, 2026, to an exceptional situation. In the early morning hours, the authorities issued an emergency alert in the Uusimaa region regarding a possibly observed unmanned aerial vehicle, or drone. According to rescue authorities, the situation was resolved during the morning and no longer poses any danger.

Everyday activities at Omnia continue as normal, and it is safe to come to the institution.

Situations like this are rare, and authorities are monitoring the security situation and will provide instructions if necessary. When an emergency alert is issued, it is important to follow official instructions and act accordingly. You can follow official announcements, for example, through Yle News, the Yle app, and the 112 Suomi app. In addition, the Ministry of the Interior’s website provides guidance for drone sightings:

Unusual news and communications about dangerous situations may cause concern, uncertainty, or remain on one’s mind even after the situation has passed. It is good to discuss the matter calmly both at the educational institution and at home, and to allow space for any questions and thoughts. All students have the opportunity, if they wish, to discuss the situation with student welfare services or other adults at the institution. Support and someone to talk to are readily available.
