A study counsellor will, in cooperation with your coordinating teacher, help you throughout your studies. Your coordinating teacher and study counsellor will prepare a personal study plan for you, and the plan can be updated if necessary. They will support you and monitor the progress of your studies. The study counsellor will help you if there is a problem with the progress of your studies or you are considering interrupting your studies. Study counsellors also hold study counselling courses for students.
A study counsellor can help you if you
- need support with issues related to studying
- need help with applying for benefits (TE Office benefits, Kela benefits)
- need help with practical professional orientation (TET) or work trial arrangements
- want to learn more about studies and services after basic education for adults or
- need a record of a subject being recognised.
The study counsellor can provide you with
- guidance appointments that you can book for times that suit your schedule and
- time and guidance for going over something important to you.
How to make an appointment with a study counsellor
You can book an appointment by sending a text message or a message through Wilma. You can also come and see the study counsellor without an appointment whenever the door is open.
