Project description

The aim of the project was to pilot and develop long-term (6-12 months) on-the-job training periods abroad. The aim was to promote the skills of the participating students and to improve their employability at pan-European level. At the same time, this project met the demands of the vocational education and training reform that came into force on 1 January 2018 for increasing learning in the workplace and for students to enter the labor market faster. Long on-the-job periods significantly improve professional skills and employment and thus also benefit the participating companies.

Teachers were offered the opportunity to develop extended on-the-job learning practices and share good practices.

21 Finnish young students under the age of 30 participated in this pilot project. The students mainly represented the hotel and restaurant, technology, social and health and food industries.
