Are you interested in the music and media industry? Or do you want to work on audiovisual tasks? Apply for Youth Workshops’ Audiovisual Workshop! You will receive valuable work experience and support with making plans for the future.

Activity at the Audiovisual Workshop

At the audiovisual workshop, you will get to try out and learn various tasks in the audiovisual field, media, and music industries under the guidance of professionals. During the workshop period, you will gain professional competence in the AV industry in various exercises and client work, from which you will collect work samples for your own work portfolio. At the workshop, you have the opportunity to enhance professional skills, which can be recognized as parts of Vocational Qualification in Media and Visual Expression.

In the audiovisual workshop, you will get to explore:

  • Music, film sound and podcast production 
  • Live sound, lighting, projection technology and event production 
  • Playing musical instruments and singing, composing, arranging and making music 
  • Video and photography, video editing, photo editing and motion graphics

Please note that workshop hours may vary, and work may include evening and weekend work.

Information about the workshops

Who are the workshops for?

This workshop is for you, if

  • you are under 30 years old and live in Espoo, Kauniainen or Kirkkonummi.
    • You could be an unemployed person aged 18–29. You are eligible for unemployment benefit during the workshop.
    • You could be a student aged 16–29 who wants to complete studies in a workshop environment. Persons of the compulsory education age will need a study place before applying for the workshops.
  •  you are interested in the workshop tasks and are motivated to progress.
What happens in the workshops?

In the workshops, you will learn new skills, and abilities which will help you in your future studies and working life. The workshops provide meaningful activities and routine to daily life. You will receive support with making plans for the future and working towards your goals.

You can come to the workshops as you are. Guidance will be provided in the workshops so no prior knowledge is required.

During the workshop, you will 

  • receive orientation for the workshop tasks
  • learn field-specific basic skills
  • practise skills needed in working life and studies
  • practise working life
  • receive support with making plans for the future
  • receive support with daily life management.

You can also complete field-specific and  common qualification modules in the workshops. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a certificate of your experience.

What happens after the workshop?

The workshop aims to prepare you for employment or further studies.

Recommendation on language proficiency level

Recommendation on language level at Omnia Youth Workshops:

  • It is good for you to know Finnish at about A2 level.
  • The workshops guide and work in the Finnish language.
  • It is important for you to be motivated to do workshop tasks and learn the Finnish language.
  • You must understand written and oral instructions related to safety and work, for example.

You can apply for workshops throughout the year. Fill out the application form (omnia.walmu.fi), and we will call you within two weeks of submitting the application.
