Youth Workshops

The Youth Workshops are intended for young people aged 16–29 living in Espoo, Kirkkonummi or Kauniainen. The workshops provide a safe and supportive community where you can develop your interaction, life management, study and working life skills.

We organize introductory tours of the workshops at the Kuusiniemi campus on Tuesdays at 13.00. Come and join us to get to know our activities.

Please arrive on time that the tour can start as scheduled.

At the Youth Workshop’s Transport and Property Management Workshop, you can try out work in the field in a safe environment. You will also get support with job seeking and planning your future.

Activity at the Transport and Property Management Workshop

The Transport and Property Management Workshop combines two industries. You will perform various transportation tasks and supportive property management tasks indoors and outdoors.

Outdoor property management tasks change with the season. Indoor tasks include painting, moving furniture and small repairs and maintenance. Tasks vary from day to day which keeps things interesting.

You will have professional machines and equipment at your disposal. The work is mobile. However, no driving licence is required.

In this workshop, you will

perform a variety of transportation tasks
perform supportive property management tasks indoors and outdoors
drive a car or lawnmower according to your abilities
practice driving a forklift truck
use a variety professional equipment
learn about material recycling
accumulate field-specific theoretical knowledge.

The Transport and Property Management Workshop is currently full and there is a waiting list. You can still submit an application, but we also recommend exploring our other workshop options.

This workshop is for you, if

you are under 30 years old and live in Espoo, Kauniainen or Kirkkonummi.
- You could be an unemployed person aged 18–29. You are eligible for unemployment benefit during the workshop.
- You could be a student aged 16–29 who wants to complete studies in a workshop environment. Persons of the compulsory education age will need a study place before applying for the workshops.
you are interested in the workshop tasks and are motivated to progress.

Recommendation on language level at Omnia Youth Workshops:

It is good for you to know Finnish at about A2 level.
The workshops guide and work in the Finnish language.
It is important for you to be motivated to do workshop tasks and learn the Finnish language.
You must understand written and oral instructions related to safety and work, for example.

TIn the workshops, you will learn new skills, and abilities which will help you in your future studies and working life. The workshops provide meaningful activities and routine to daily life. You will receive support with making plans for the future and working towards your goals.

You can come to the workshops as you are. Guidance will be provided in the workshops so no prior knowledge is required.

During the workshop, you will

receive orientation for the workshop tasks
learn field-specific basic skills
practise skills needed in working life and studies
practise working life
receive support with making plans for the future
receive support with daily life management.

You can also complete field-specific and common qualification modules in the workshops. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a certificate of your experience.

The workshop aims to prepare you for employment or further studies.
