Safety Instructions

Omnia is a safe, responsible and inclusive learning and working community where everyone is valued. We promote safety by identifying risks in advance, preparing for different situations and continuously improving our operations. Above all, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our students, staff and other members of our community, while safeguarding the continuity of Omnia’s operations in all circumstances.

Safety orientation for students

At the beginning of their studies, students receive an introduction to Omnia’s rules and regulations, safety practices and facilities. They are also trained in field-specific safety procedures, including safe working methods in workshops and the safe use of machinery, equipment and chemicals.

Safety observations

You can use a safety observation report to notify us of a safety hazard, incident or near miss. You can also report positive safety observations.

Please submit a Safety Observation Report (Microsoft Forms) whenever you notice anything that may affect safety. Every report helps identify shortcomings, prevent hazardous situations and improve safety at Omnia. You can also use the form to share good practices or suggest improvements.

The form does not allow attachments. Please send any photos or videos related to your observation by email to turvallisuus@omnia.fi.

What to do in an emergency

Always listen to and follow instructions given by staff, as well as any announcements or alarms in the building. If you notice behaviour that threatens safety or violates Omnia’s rules and regulations, report it to the nearest member of staff.

In an emergency:

• Rescue people in immediate danger, while ensuring your own safety.
• Warn others nearby using your voice or another appropriate method.
• Limit damage by taking actions that reduce further harm. For example, close doors in the event of a fire.
• Call for help by informing staff as soon as possible. Call 112 or ask someone else to do so. Depending on the situation, calling 112 may be the first action required. At a minimum, everyone should ensure that emergency services are alerted.

Contact information

Students can contact their own teacher for guidance on safety-related matters. Caretakers at Omnia’s campuses provide safety guidance and assistance to customers and visitors.
