Omnia and the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture is hosting Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for Impact Roundtable and Expert Forum on 30–31 October in Finland. The event brings together UN, public and private sector organisations, as well as donors to exchange good practice and create partnerships for jointly delivering long-term TVET solutions for the most vulnerable, and hard to reach areas. The event is co-organised by UNITAR, UNHCR, Omnia Education Partnerships (OEP) and Finn Church Aid (FCA).
DAY 1: 30 October 2019
Day 1 is hosted by Omnia, The Joint Authority of Education in Espoo Region and focuses on migration and targets TVET experts, opinion leaders and participants contributing to co-creating sustainable solutions needed for today’s mobile workforce. The programme includes an overview of the Finnish TVET system and how the model and paradigm has been adapted for delivering a high-value TVET solutions suitable for international context. Global challenges and good practice in TVET will be shared in a joint learning café.
DAY 2: 31 October 2019
Day 2 is hosted by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture at the House of the Estates. The focus is on creating value-driven collaborative partnerships to enhance the relevance of TVET as a public private ecosystem. The ultimate goal is equipping all youth and adults with the skills required for the future, resulting in job creation, meaningful employment, decent working conditions, lifelong learning, poverty reduction, and contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as a whole.
