A delegation of government officials from the Republic of Iraq visited Omnia in mid-February. The delegation’s programme included familiarising themselves with the Finnish education and TVET system. During their visit to Omnia they heard presentations on Omnia, the Finnish vocational education and training system as well as on the work and developments of Omnia Education Partnership.
Dr Hamid K. Ahmed, the Deputy-chair of the Prime Minister Advisory Commission in Iraq, told that the country is undergoing a reform in its education system.
“There are many good practices in the Finnish system, especially the flexibility and the empathy for the students. In Iraq there are several components in the reform: the governance, the qualifications, the capacity building for the staff and the institutions”, he explained.
