The Estonian Minister of Education and Research Mailis Reps and her delegation visited Omnia on Monday the 13th of August. In the delegation there were Estonian officials as well as officials from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture and National Agency of Education.
During the visit there was a presentation given by Anita Lehikoinen, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Culture. In her presentation Lehikoinen spoke about the digital economy and how to maintain the attractiveness of vocational education. ”International cooperation plays an important role in maintaining competitiveness and bringing creative and skilled people to the labour market.", she stated.
The visitors also heard from Espoo City Deputy Mayor Aulis Pitkälä and Omnia's Director General Sampo Suihko, who emphasised inclusion by the means of education in his presentation.
