Further Vocational Qualification in Restaurant Customer Service, Waiter

The professional degree in restaurant customer service deepens your knowledge and professionalism in the work of restaurant industry and bartending. You can choose either the bar´s customer service expertise or the restaurant´s customer service expertise.

The training is intended for a person working in the catering industry in a customer service position in a bar or restaurant.

During the training, the person must have a job where he or she has the opportunity to work and develop in his or her job duties.

The applicant must have completed basic studies in the field or working experience in restaurant customer service.

The training requires basic studies in the field or working experience in restaurant customer service. The restaurant´s customer service professional has a desire to develop in the industry, as well as good interaction skills. You must really love customer service! Good language skills are also required in the restaurant industry.

After completing Further Vocational Qualification in Restaurant Customer Service, Waiter you will be able to work as a bartender or waiter (hotels, bars, pubs, restaurants etc.).

Studying for a vocational qualification in English will improve your language skills and grants you eligibility for further studies in university or university of applied sciences.

Compulsory unit:
- Serving customers at restaurant, 40 cp
Competence area of Customer Service in Bars:
- Working in a bar, 45 cp
Competence area of Customer Service Restaurants:
- Working in a restaurant, 45 cp
Optional Units:
- Working in a cocktail bar, 35 cp
- Working in a wine bar, 35 cp
- Working as an expert in a café, 35 cp
- Working in a beer restaurant, 35 cp
- Working in a party service, 20 cp
- Working in a staff restaurant, 20 cp
- Working in a catering services, 20 cp
- Developing a product for a restaurant, 15 cp
A unit from a vocational qualification, another further qualification, or a specialist qualification. In this case, the scope of the unit may be at minimum 10 or at maximum 15 competence points.

Cancellation policy

If the student has accepted the place of study and resigns within one month of the start of the studies, 50% of the student fee will be charged. Any changes made after this will cause the full tuition fee to be charged.

The tuition fee will not be refunded if the student cancels his/her studies after enrollment.

Other information

International students must have a valid health insurance and accommodation for the duration of their study in Finland. Omnia does not offer dormitories.
