Several changes to facilities in the near future, studies continue in familiar premises this autumn

Omnia is developing learning environments and preparing future facility projects across its campuses. However, students’ daily routines will continue in the current locations and campuses this autumn.

“From the students’ perspective, the arrangements for the next academic year are clear. Although facility changes are being implemented and new solutions are being prepared, these changes will not yet significantly affect students’ everyday life in the coming academic year. The autumn term will begin in familiar premises across all fields of study,” says Principal Maija Aaltola.

The Espoon keskus campus area is developing

At the Espoon keskus campus area, learning environments on Kirkkokatu and Lehtimäentie are being updated to meet future needs. In addition, preparations are underway to discontinue the Lakelankatu site.

Additional teaching spaces are currently being built at the Kirkkokatu location, and new facilities for hairdressing and beauty care education are being planned. The goal is to have these new facilities in use during the autumn term of 2027.

Extensive renovation work at Lehtimäentie 1 C is expected to start no earlier than summer 2027. Until then, teaching can continue as normal throughout the entire 2026–2027 academic year. Business studies currently located at Lehtimäentie will move to the Kirkkokatu location no earlier than autumn 2027.

Motor vehicle training prepares for new facilities

Omnia’s motor vehicle training is currently located in Suomenoja. The lease for the current premises is ending, which is why Omnia is preparing new facility solutions for this field. However, during the 2026–2027 academic year, teaching will still take place in the familiar Suomenoja premises.

The goal is to build new facilities so that motor vehicle training will be located at the Espoon keskus campus on Lehtimäentie. Before that, temporary premises are currently being mapped out, with the aim of relocating operations at the start of the 2027–2028 academic year. Studies will continue without interruption during these transitions. Students and guardians will be informed about upcoming arrangements as soon as decisions are confirmed.

Focus on Kiviruukki

Omnia’s most significant future facility project is the new Kiviruukki campus, which is being planned for the Suur-Espoonlahti area. The goal is for the campus to be completed in 2029, and it is intended to primarily accommodate the current training programs from the Lakelantie site.

The new campus will bring together education, working life cooperation, and modern learning environments, making vocational education even closer to students and working life in the growing area.

Welcome to the new academic year!

“We are systematically developing Omnia’s facilities for the future, while also improving the quality of education and ensuring that students’ daily life runs as smoothly as possible,” summarizes Principal Maija Aaltola, warmly welcoming all students who will start or continue at Omnia this autumn.
