The Finnish National Vocational Championship Taitaja2023 Espoo is held 8–11 May 2023 at the Tapiola Sports Park. The event is organised by Omnia.

Taitaja is a major event in vocational education and training, where young vocational students compete for Finnish Championship medals in skill categories based on vocational qualifications. In addition, students who need special support compete in the TaitajaPLUS skill categories and comprehensive school pupils in grades 7–9 compete in the Taitaja9 competition.

In addition to the competitions, the event serves as a meeting place for many teachers and experts working in vocational education and training, for working life and for stakeholders. Taitaja is a showcase for vocational education and training, and it is ideal for audiences interested in vocational education or considering career choices.

Together with working life and stakeholders

The organisation behind the event is Skills Finland ry, which transfers the right to organise the event to a different vocational education provider each year. In 2023, the competition is organised by Omnia. The event features approximately 50 competitions and occupational displays, as well as approximately 500 contestants. International participants are also expected to participate in the competitions. Approximately 1,200 students and numerous partners from working life and stakeholders are participating in the implementation of the event.

The event is open to all and free of charge

On 8–11 May 2023, the Tapiola Sports Park is filled with numerous vocational skill categories and side shows. Taitaja2023 Espoo is a free event open to all. Our goal is 75,000 visitors – please be one of them! Come, see and experience how the best in their field show off their skills and compete for Finnish Championship medals in exciting competitions.
