Learn basics of accounting, such as various bookkeeping systems, financial transactions, VAT. Learn to master the basic information of accounting! During this course we will concentrate on accounting from the perspective of a sole trader.

Course content

The course will cover the following:

  • differences between single-entry and double-entry bookkeeping systems
  • the process of recording of financial transactions
  • VAT
  • purchases and sales in Finland within and outside of the EU

Learning outcomes

After this course you will understand the basics of accounting in Finland.

Target group

It will be interesting to people who have already registered as sole traders, consider this form of business in future or just interested in the basics of accounting. Minimum age 16 y.

Performance instructions

The online teaching takes place on Teams. Information and additional material are shared on Moodle-learning platform. 

Please familiarise yourself with Teams and Moodle and note the online teaching introduction, which is free of charge. In case you encounter technical problems, please contact helpdesk@omnia.fi.

If you attend remotely, you need a laptop or tablet. The use of a headset is recommended. You will receive the instructions for signing in and the Teams link 2-3 days before the beginning of the course. If you have not received the starting letter before the beginning of the course, check your email’s spam folder. If you cannot find it, please contact espoon.tyovaenopisto@omnia.fi.
