You have a unique chance to study a qualification for Practical Nurse profession in english in Omnia. This possibility suits very well for a non Finnish speaking student but also Finnish students who have good command of English language can apply for this programme.

The programme consists of theory studies and 33 credits on-the-job-learning studies, totally 120 cr. The study time takes about 2,5 years full-time time studying (40 hours/week). After you have completed the 50 cr basic studies you continue your studies in our 1 year's (40 cr) orientation studies, including 2x 8 cr on-the-job-learning studies.

On-the-job-learning studies are completed in the capital area but they can be completed also abroad, we help you to find a placement.

In addition the orientation of this programme is for Children's and Youth Care and Education. The qualification of Practical Nurse gives you an excellent chance to work on a large field of health care and social welfare.

Requirements for this programme are good command of English, good health status and 12 year's secondary education. The whole programme consists of 120 cr, which 30 cr are accepted on the basis of your former school certificate. The programme includes also some credits in Finnish language even though the basic knowledge of Finnish is therefore recommended.

Practical Nurse Education (PNE)
Englanninkielinen lähihoitajakoulutus. Perusvaatimuksena 12 vuoden aikaisemmat opinnot (yo, tms.). Uusi ryhmä alkaa vuosittain syksyllä. Koulutukseen haetaan erillishaulla keväisin suoraan oppilaitokseen.
